Renato Cesari

Renato Cesari, born in 1916 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was an Argentinian baritone singer. He began his vocal training under his father, Virginio Cesari, and debuted at the Teatro Colón in 1941. In 1949, he received the prize for best Argentine singer from the Círculo de Críticos Musicales de Buenos Aires for his performance as "Papageno" in La flauta mágica by Mozart. Cesari's career spanned multiple continents, including performances at La Scala in Milan. He collaborated with Pablo Sorozábal on several zarzuelas and romanzas during the 1950s. Cesari returned to Argentina annually from 1964 until his retirement, notably performing as the "Conde" in Las bodas de Fígaro by Mozart alongside Victoria de los Ángeles. In 1989, he was awarded the Premio Konex for best male singer. Cesari passed away on June 18th, 1992 in Lecco, Italy.
