The Stone Foxes, an American rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in late 2005. The group was founded by Aaron Mort and brothers Spence Koehler (guitar) and Shannon Koehler (drums, vocals). After college at San Francisco State University, they added Avi Vinocur (guitar, bass), and later in April 2011, Elliott Peltzman (keyboardist). The Stone Foxes released their debut album Bears & Bulls in 2010. They gained recognition by opening for Cage the Elephant and The Black Keys at Mesa Amphitheatre in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2011. Their cover of "I'm A King Bee" was featured in a national ad campaign for Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey. In 2013, following the departures of Aaron Mort and Avi Vinocur, they released Small Fires, featuring singles like "Everybody Knows," "Ulysses Jones," and "Cotto." Notable later singles include "Fight" and "Shake Like Buddy Holly." The band's music has been featured in various television shows, movies, and advertisements, including the Oscar-winning film Free Solo. They have performed at festivals like Outside Lands and SXSW.
