Black Pistol Fire is a Canadian-born alternative rock duo. Band members Kevin McKeown (guitar/vocals) and Eric Owen (drums) became friends in kindergarten but didn’t start playing in a band together until they were in high school. Their musical style blended southern rock, blues, garage rock, and rhythm & blues. Black Pistol Fire released their self-titled debut album in 2011. The album featured “Suffocation Blues”, one of their best-known tracks. As the band’s fanbase continued to grow, they relocated to Austin, Texas. Their albums – including Big Beat ’59 (2012), Hush or Howl (2014), and Don’t Wake the Riot (2016) – earned the band critical acclaim. Their fifth album, Deadbeat Graffiti (2017) featured two tracks that achieved heavy airplay in Canada: “Lost Cause” and “Bully.” The hard hitting album, Look Alive, was released in January of 2021. Flagrant Act of Bliss, released January 2026, featuring the singles, "Low Twang" and "Rock Bottom" featuring Gary Clark Jr.
