Maurice Bevan was a British bass-baritone and composer who was born in the United Kingdom in 1921. He achieved early professional recognition as a singer with The Deller Consort and is famous for his career as a singer with The Deller Consort and for his work with the BBC. Bevan sang with The Deller Consort, which was established by Alfred Deller in 1948, and was a member of the choir at St Paul's Cathedral in London. Throughout a career that spanned the 20th century, he performed as a soloist and ensemble singer while also producing original compositions. Bevan died in 2006.
