The Infinity Project, a British electronic music group formed in 1991, was founded by Ronald Rothfield (alias Raja Ram, born 1941 in Melbourne, Australia) and Graham Wood; Ronald Rothfield had previously played with jazz‑rock band Quintessence in the 1960s, while Graham Wood contributed production and programming. Their early career began with the release of the single "Hyperactive" in 1991, followed by the EPs The Law EP and The Infinity Project EP the same year, establishing their presence in the acid house scene that would evolve into early psychedelic trance. In 1992, the EP Tribadelic Meltdown was issued, and by 1995 the duo released two full‑length albums, Feeling Weird and Mystical Experiences, both distributed through their own label TIP Records, which later rebranded as TIP World in 1999 after financial difficulties. Notable singles such as "Psychotools" (1995) and "Alien Airport" (1995) garnered underground acclaim, while the 1997 single "Overwind / Incandescence" highlighted their continued influence. The group’s catalogue expanded with the 2004 release "The Mystery Of The Yeti / Mystical Experiences", revisiting earlier material for a new audience. Throughout their career, The Infinity Project maintained a steady output of EPs, singles, and remix projects, contributing to the development of psychedelic trance in the UK and Europe, though they never achieved mainstream chart success.
