Total Eclipse, a French electronic music group from Bordeaux, was formed in 1992 by Serge Souque, Stéphane Holweck, and Loïc Vanpoucke. The trio gained prominence as pioneers of psytrance in France, releasing their debut single "Aliens" in 1994 under Dragonfly Records. Their first album, Delta Aquarids, was released in 1995, followed by the double-album Violent Relaxation in 1996. In 1999, they explored new musical territories with Access Denied, a blend of drum and bass, breakbeat, and jazz. The group also founded their own label, Totally Eclipsed Recordings, which produced ambient and downtempo artists. By the mid-2000s, Stéphane Holweck continued as the sole member, releasing solo albums such as Tales Of The Shaman in 2008. Serge Souque focused on his electro-house project Electronic Pirates and the label Pirate Federation, while Loïc Vanpoucke retired from the electronic scene.
