Gábor Boldoczki, born in 1976 in Szeged, Hungary, is a classical trumpeter. At age 14, he won his first national trumpet competition in Hungary and graduated from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest under Reinhold Friedrich. Boldoczki gained recognition by winning the Concours International CIEM de Genève in 1996 and the Yamaha European Music Foundation Scholarship in 1997. He continued to win prestigious competitions, including the ARD Competition in Munich and the Maurice André Competition in Paris. Boldoczki was named Young Artist of the Year in 2002 and received the Echo Classic Award in 2003.
