Skolvan is a Breton music ensemble formed in 1984 in South Finistère, France. Established by Youenn Le Bihan, the group originally included Patrice Querré, Yann-Fañch Perroches, and Gilles Le Bigot. The band performed its debut fest-noz on April 14, 1984. Le Bihan introduced a new bombarde called the piston to create the ensemble's specific sound. The group released its debut studio recording, Dañs, in 1987 through the label Adipho. In 1994, the ensemble released the recording Swing & Tears, which received album of the year awards in France, the United Kingdom, and Portugal. The band's repertoire incorporated elements of jazz and folk music. Its discography included the recordings Cheñchet n'eus an amzer (2000), C'Hoari pevar (2010), and Ti ar seven (2018). The ensemble performed at festivals including the Interceltique Festival in Lorient and the Paris Breizh Festival.
