Kornog was a Breton folk music band from France, was formed in 1980. The group, known for playing traditional Breton and Celtic music, included members Christian Lemaitre on fiddle, Jean-Michel Veillon on wooden flute, Soïg Siberil and Gilles Le Bigot on guitar, and Nicolas Quemener on percussion. Kornog's approach was unique among Breton groups as it focused more on listening experiences rather than the traditional Fest Noz dance circuit. The band released their debut album Kornog in 1983, followed by Première: Music from Brittany in 1993. They gained significant influence in the Celtic music scene during the 1980s and were one of the few Breton groups to perform in the United States. Kornog disbanded in 1987 but reunited in 1999, and released Korong in 2000. Their final performance was in 2006, while several members continued their musical careers with other groups, notably Pennoù Skoulm, which remains active.
