Annie Ebrel, born in 1969 from Lohuec, Côtes-d'Armor, France, is a French singer who often sang in Breton. She began singing at age 13 in traditional Breton gatherings called festoù-noz, learning kan ha diskan from Yannick Larvor. At 15, she won the Kan ar Bobl contest with her partner. Ebrel's career took off when she formed the group Dibenn in 1990, which won the Kan ar Bobl and released a self-titled album in 1996 that received multiple awards. In 1998, her solo album Voulouz Loar - Velluto Di Luna was critically acclaimed, earning a Bravo Trad Mag, a Diapason d'or, and a Choc du Monde de la Musique. Ebrel also notably collaborated with Riccardo Del Fra, forming a jazz duo that performed internationally.
