Luben Yordanoff was born on December 6, 1926 in Sofia, Bulgaria. He began his musical journey at the Conservatoire de Paris, winning the Concours musical international Reine Élisabeth de Belgique twice. He served as first violin soloist for the Orchestre National de l'Opéra de Monte-Carlo and later for the Orchestre de Paris from 1967 until 1991. Yordanoff's notable recordings include Messiaen: Quatuor pour la Fin du Temps. His contributions to music were honored with several awards, including being made an Officier de la Légion d’honneur and a Commandeur de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres. He passed away on September 4, 2011 in Chatou, France.
