Maria Graf, born in 1956 in Munich, Germany, is a harpist who began playing the instrument at age eleven. She studied under Ursula Lendtrodt in Munich and Pierre Jamet in Paris. Graf's early career included performances with notable orchestras such as the Münchner Philharmoniker under Sergiu Celibidache and the Berliner Philharmoniker under Herbert von Karajan. Her solo debut came with J.S. Bach's 3 Sonatas For Flute And Harp BWV 1020, 1031, 1033 • Partita For Solo Flute • Suite For Harp album in 1988. Graf has since collaborated with prominent musicians including Irena Grafenauer, Gidon Kremer, Tabea Zimmermann, and Giora Feidman. She held a professorship at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg from 1988 to 1997 and has been teaching at the Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“ Berlin since 1997.
