Kim‑Lian van der Meij, born 1 October 1980 in Beverwijk, Netherlands, is a Dutch singer‑actress who began her career in dance and television before transitioning to music; her parents were professional dancers and she competed in Dutch children’s lip‑sync shows such as De Mini Playbackshow. In 2003 she signed with CMM Records and released the single "Teenage Superstar", which topped the charts in Indonesia and entered the Dutch, Belgian, South African, Malaysian, Singaporean, Swedish and Italian markets; the single was followed by "Hey Boy!" and the album Balance on 24 May 2004, which peaked at number 9 on the Dutch Album Chart and included the singles "Garden of Love" and a cover of "Kids in America", both reaching the Top 40 in the Netherlands. After parting with CMM Records, she produced her second studio album Just Do It in 2006 with Swedish producer Daniel Gibson, issuing the single "Road to Heaven" that entered the Top 40; the album was released on 28 October 2006. Her television work includes hosting Kids Top 20 on Jetix, for which she received the Gouden Stuiver award in 2003, and voice roles in Dutch dubs of The Smurfs, The Smurfs 2 and Rapunzel.
