Mária Čírová (born November 20, 1988, in Trnava, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak singer‑songwriter. She first gained national attention in 2008 when she won the eighth edition of the Coca-Cola Popstar contest in Slovakia, which helped launch her professional music career. Earlier, she had released an initial album, Na tisícich miestach (2006) with Trinity Group, but her mainstream breakthrough came with her debut major-label album Búrka (2008), released under Street Production. The album featured tracks that received significant radio airplay, cementing her presence in the Slovak pop scene. She followed this with the album Na dosah (2011). Her work earned her recognition in Slovak music polls, including the Slávik awards, where she was named “Jumper of the Year” in 2009.
