Vivien Anne Goldman, born on August 25, 1954, in London, England, is a British journalist and singer. She began her career during the punk and reggae explosion of the late 1970s, specializing in black music genres. In 1981, she released the Dirty Washing EP, which included the notable single "Launderette". This EP was produced by John Lydon and Adrian Sherwood. Goldman's musical journey includes her involvement with the new wave duo Chantage in Paris and as a founding member of The Flying Lizards. She has written songs for artists such as Massive Attack, Coldcut, and Ryūichi Sakamoto. As a journalist, Goldman has contributed to publications like New Musical Express and Rolling Stone. Her notable works include the first biography of Bob Marley, Soul Rebel - Natural Mystic (1981).
