Von Spar is a post-punk rock group from Cologne, Germany. The band's name is derived from Von-Sparr Street, named after Otto Christoph von Sparr, near the rehearsal space where the group met. Their debut single "Vielen Dank Für Ihr Verständnis" marked the beginning of their career. In 2004, they released their first album Die Uneingeschränkte Freiheit Der Privaten Initiative on L'Âge d'or Records, which featured a blend of electropunk and rock elements. Von Spar signed with Tomlab and released their self-titled second album in 2007. In 2019, the group released Under Pressure, featuring collaborations with Chris Cummings, Laetitia Sadier, Vivien Goldman, Eiko Ishibashi, and R. Stevie Moore. In 2022, they received the Holger Czukay Preis für Popmusik from the city of Cologne.
