Ben Salter, born on March 23, 1977, in Australia, is a singer known for his contributions to indie pop. In 2008, he formed the country blues band The Wilson Pickers, which marked an early step in his music career. His debut album The Cat was released in August 2011 and won Album of the Year at the Queensland Music Awards in 2012. Salter's subsequent releases include Ben Salter Live (2012), European Vacation (2013), The Stars My Destination (May 2015), and Summer of the Loud Birds (2020). He has collaborated with numerous artists, including Cat Power and Built to Spill. Salter's extensive touring includes a five-month European tour in 2012, which inspired his EP European Vacation.
