Merfen Orange was a Swiss hip hop group from Thun, formed in 1995, taking its name from a disinfectant with the same name. The band's music blended various genres including Mundart-Rock, Crossover, Breakbeat, Drum and Bass, Funk, Trip-Hop, and Acid Jazz. Merfen Orange released their debut album Fertig luschtig in 1996, which peaked at number 33 on the Swiss charts. Their second album, Blockstoff, was released in March 1998 and reached number 22 on the same chart. The group's final album, Am Apparat, was released in June 2000 under Universal Music Group. Notable singles from their discography include "Dr Summer chunnt" (1996), "Chuchi" (1998), and "Vespa" (2000). Merfen Orange disbanded following the release of Am Apparat.
