Música Urbana was a Catalan jazz-rock band formed in Barcelona, Spain in 1976. The group was founded by pianist and composer Joan Albert Amargós, who assembled musicians from various local bands to create a distinctive "supergroup." Their debut album Banda Sonora De La Pel.licula: Primera Aventura De Pepe Carvalho "Tatuaje" was released that same year, showcasing their unique blend of jazz-rock with Mediterranean and Andalusian influences. Música Urbana was also released in 1976. In 1978, they followed up with the album Iberia, named after Isaac Albéniz’s suite. The band's notable collaborations included accompanying Joan Manuel Serrat on tour and contributing to the soundtrack for Bigas Luna’s film Tatuaje. Música Urbana also performed at the San Sebastián Jazz Festival in 1979, marking a significant moment before their disbandment later that year.
