David Fung, born in 1983 in Sydney, Australia, is a concert pianist. He won the ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards in 2002, performing Rachmaninoff's "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini" with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Fung studied at the Colburn School and earned degrees from Yale University and the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. He has performed with major orchestras worldwide, including the Cleveland Orchestra and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. His released his album Evening Conversations in 2006. Fung's achievements include laureate status at the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition and the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition. In July 2021, he was appointed Professor of Piano at the University of British Columbia School of Music, and in April 2024, he was appointed Professor of Piano at the Manhattan School of Music.
