The Janaki String Trio was founded in 2005 at the Colburn School in Los Angeles, California. The trio quickly gained recognition for their diverse repertoire, ranging from Beethoven to Penderecki. In 2006, they won the Concert Artists Guild International Competition, marking the first time a string trio had received this honor since 1978. Members of the Janaki String Trio have studied with notable figures such as Isodore Cohen, Sylvia Rosenberg, and various esteemed quartets including the Guarneri Quartet and the Juilliard String Quartet. The group's discography includes Vaňhal: Flute Quartets released in 2007 by Naxos and Young Beethoven released in 2020 by Yarlung Records.
