Hendrik Bruch, born on December 5, 1962, in East Berlin, Germany, was a composer, singer, and music producer. He began his musical journey with various student bands before enrolling at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin in 1985, where he graduated in 1989. In 1987, he won the Silver Bong award for his songs "Was ich brauche" ("What I need") and "Bitte warte auf mich" ("Please wait for me") on the DDR television show Sprungbrett. Bruch released several albums, including Hendrik Bruch (1994) and Wenn Du mich liebst (If you love me) (1997), featuring notable singles such as "Dass ich Dich brauch". He also lent his voice to various Disney films, notably providing the singing voice of Quasimodo in the German version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Bruch struggled with depression and passed away on September 12, 2016.
