Brian Christopher Kay is an English broadcaster, conductor, and singer who was born in 1944. He began his career as the bass vocalist for the King's Singers during the group's formative years, performing with the ensemble from 1968 until 1982. During this period, Kay appeared on many of the group's recordings. He provided the singing voice for the character Papageno in the film Amadeus (1984) and was the voice of the lowest frog in the Paul McCartney song “We All Stand Together”. Kay is established as a choral conductor and served as the conductor of the Leith Hill Musical Festival and the director of the Huddersfield Choral Society. He is the principal conductor of the Really Big Chorus. His career in broadcasting includes presenting the program Friday Night is Music Night on BBC Radio 2. On BBC Radio 3, he presented 3 for All and Brian Kay's Light Programme until 2006. In 1996, he received the Sony Radio Award for Music Presenter of the Year. Kay is the president of several organizations, including the Harrogate Choral Society and the Bristol Bach Choir.
