The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, based in Central Florida, was founded in 1993 as the region's resident professional orchestra. The ensemble is composed of musicians recruited from around the world and has since grown to present over 100 performances each season. In its early years, the orchestra established itself with a diverse repertoire, including classical and pops concerts. Notable programs include the Super Series, which features guest artists, and the Focus Series, highlighting chamber music. The orchestra has also performed several concert operas, including Carmen, Porgy and Bess, La Bohème, and Rigoletto. Additionally, the Orlando Philharmonic collaborates with various local institutions, such as the Orlando Opera, Orlando Ballet, and the University of Central Florida, enhancing its community engagement. The orchestra's educational outreach includes annual Young People's Concerts for school students in Orange, Seminole, and Volusia counties.
