Joseph Falcon, born Joseph Falcón on September 28, 1900, in Roberts Cove, Louisiana, was an American accordionist known for pioneering Cajun music. He began playing the accordion at age seven and started his professional career at a dance hall in Rayne, Louisiana. He recorded “Allons à Lafayette” (1928) with Cléoma Breaux, marking the first recording of a Cajun song. This breakthrough established him as an early Cajun-recording star. The duo recorded through the late 1920s and into the 1930s, marrying in 1932. After Cléoma's death in 1941, he formed Joe Falcon and His Silver Bell String Band. He performed locally until his final live recording session in 1963. He passed away on November 19, 1965, in Crowley, Louisiana.
