Lawrence Walker, born September 1, 1907, in Duson, Louisiana, was an American Cajun accordionist. At age 13, he began playing with his father and brother Elton in a band called The Walker Brothers Group, recording their first single with Brunswick Records in 1929. In 1936, Walker performed at the National Folk Festival. After World War II, he toured extensively with The Wandering Aces. Known for original songs like "Reno Waltz" and "Evangeline Waltz" (1951), Walker's accordion skills earned him numerous contest wins. Walker died on August 15, 1968, in Rayne, Louisiana. He was inducted into the Cajun French Music Association Hall of Fame in 1997.
