Pierre Cao

Pierre Cao, born on December 22, 1937, in Dudelange, Luxembourg, was a Luxembourgish composer and conductor. He studied composition and conducting at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Cao began his career as a regular conductor for Arsys Bourgogne, with whom he recorded works such as Biber's Requiem and other baroque pieces. He taught at the Luxembourg Conservatory until 1998 and led vocal ensembles in Luxembourg and surrounding regions. In 1973, Cao served as the musical director for the Eurovision Song Contest held in Luxembourg, conducting Luxembourg’s winning entry "Tu te reconnaîtras". He also conducted the German and Cypriot entries during the 1984 contest, though he did not conduct Luxembourg's entry that year.
