Mariano Alberto Martínez, known as Mariano Mores, was born on February 18, 1918, in San Telmo, Buenos Aires, Argentina, was a tango composer and pianist. He began playing classical music on the piano at a young age and made his public debut at 14. After studying at the D'Andrea Conservatory, he formed a trio with Margot and Myrna Mores, later marrying Myrna and adopting her surname as his stage name. His breakthrough came in 1938 when he composed music for the film Senderos de Santa Fe. In 1948, Mores established his own orchestra, debuting at the Presidente Alvear Theater. He was credited with creating the modern tango sextet and wrote on notable songs such as "Uno" (1943) with Enrique Santos Discépolo and "Cafetín de Buenos Aires" (1948). He composed for several films, including La voz de mi ciudad (1953), featuring his successful milonga "Taquito militar". He passed away on April 13, 2016.
