O Terço is a Brazilian rock band formed in 1968 and recognized as a pioneer of the country's progressive rock movement. The group released its self-titled debut album in 1970, followed by a transition toward heavier, eclectic sounds on Terço (1973). Their mainstream breakthrough occurred with the 1975 release Criaturas da noite, an album that solidified their place in musical history through its complex arrangements. During the late 1970s, the band continued to expand their catalog with Casa encantada (1976) and Mudança de tempo (1978). In the 1980s, the band toured the United States and Europe.
