Destroy the Runner, an American melodic metalcore band from San Diego, California, was formed in 2004 under the name Die Like Me by Kyle Setter, Duane Reed, Nick Maldonado, Jeremiah Crespo, and Marc Kohlbry. They self-released an EP that year before signing with Solid State Records in June 2006, where they released their debut album Saints in 2006. Following its release, the band toured with acts such as The Chariot and August Burns Red. In 2007, Setter and Crespo departed and were replaced by Chad Ackerman and Tanner Sparks. Their second album, I, Lucifer, was released in 2008 and charted on the Billboard Top Christian Albums and Heatseekers charts. The band announced an indefinite hiatus in May 2010. In 2016, the original members reunited and independently released the EP Void.
