Becoming the Archetype is an American metal band from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in 1999. The original lineup included Jason Wisdom (bass, vocals), Brent Duckett (drums), Sean Cunningham (guitar), John Starr (guitar), and Jackob Franklin (guitar). The group originally performed under the name Nonexistent Failure before changing to The Remnant and later adopting the name Becoming the Archetype in 2004. After signing with Solid State Records, they released their debut album, Terminate Damnation, in 2005. Their third studio album, Dichotomy, was released in 2008 and entered the Top 100 Albums by New Artists chart. Subsequent releases include Celestial Completion (2011) and I Am (2012).
