Grethe Sønck was a Danish singer and actress. At 17, she won a singing competition in Hollænderbyen, Amager Island. Her first single featured "Sig Hvorfor" and "Hvis Engang." Sønck participated regularly in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix from 1960 to 1964, performing notable songs such as "Trækbasun & Vaskebræt" and "Verden Er En Gammel Bekendt." She also performed with Gustav Winckler in 1964, singing "Ugler I Mosen." Sønck celebrated her 60-year stage anniversary as a singer in May 2007. Throughout her career, she acted in over 50 revues and musicals. She received the Bakkens Oscar in 1993 and the Thorleif-Theaterpreis in 2002. Grethe Sønck passed away on February 12, 2010, at her home in Rågeleje.
