Crazy Hambones, a German blues band, was formed by Micha Maass and Peter Krause. In 2004, they released their debut album Cool Step, which won second prize from the German Record Critics' Award in 2004 and was named Album of the Month by Bayerischer Rundfunk. Paul Orta joined initially but left due to health issues in 2005, replaced by Henry Heggen. Ryan Donohue took over guitar duties from 2009 to 2010, followed by Brian Barnett. Their subsequent albums included Blowin the Family Jewels (2007), Hole in the Roll (2010), 45 LIVE (2015), and Beautiful (2019). Notable achievements include reaching number 3 on KNON's Top 25 Blues Albums in Texas in 2004.
