Willie Littlefield Jr., known professionally as Little Willie Littlefield, was born on September 16, 1931, in El Campo, Texas. He began his musical journey at 16, performing in local clubs and recording for Eddie Henry's label. His breakthrough came in 1949 with "It's Midnight", a single released by Modern Records that reached number 3 on Billboard’s Rhythm & Blues chart. This success led to further hits like "Farewell" (number 5) and collaborations with notable musicians. In 1952, Littlefield recorded the first version of "K.C. Lovin'", later known as "Kansas City". He joined Federal Records in 1952 and continued to release music through various labels. Littlefield's career spanned over five decades, with notable performances in Europe during the late 1970s and a comeback after retirement in 2006. Little Willie Littlefield passed away on June 23, 2013.
