Manfred Morgan (born Rudi Edelmann on 18 November 1948 in Stuttgart, Germany) is a German pop and Schlager singer, composer, lyricist, and guitarist. After completing his studies he worked as a teacher, while his musical talent first emerged as a member of the backing band for Schlager singer Erik Silvester. In the early 1970s, Manfred Morgan began recording his own material, achieving his breakthrough with the single "Zuerst kam die Sonne" in 1971, a hit that would be re‑issued two decades later by Michael Morgan. Subsequent releases, including "Dich hat der Himmel geschickt" (1972), "Hey John" (1973), and "Es liegt an dir" (1975), secured him a place in the German Schlager scene, though his chart presence waned by the late 1970s. Shifting focus, he wrote the musical Seifenblasen, which enjoyed regional success, and continued to compose and pen lyrics for other artists. Manfred Morgan remained active as a primary school teacher in Freudental until his early retirement. He passed away on 17 June 2015 at age 66 after a serious illness and is buried at the cemetery in Großsachsenheim. His legacy endures through his enduring singles and the 2011 album Zuerst Kam die Sonne.
