Goldie Hill, born Argolda Voncile Hill on January 11, 1933, in Karnes City, Texas, was an American country music singer. She began her career performing with her brothers before auditioning solo at Decca Records. Her first single came in 1952 with "Why Talk to My Heart", followed by her hit single "I Let the Stars Get in My Eyes", which reached Number 1 on the country music charts in 1952. She recorded several albums for Decca Records in the early 1960s, including Goldie Hill (1960), Lonely Heartaches (1961), and According to My Heart (1962). She collaborated with singer Justin Tubb on hit duets in 1954 and performed regularly on shows like Louisiana Hayride, Grand Ole Opry, and Ozark Jubilee. Hill was married to country singer Carl Smith from 1957 until her death on February 24, 2005, at the age of 72 due to complications from cancer.
