George Thomas Morgan, born on June 28, 1924 in Waverly, Tennessee, was a country music singer. He began his career as a country crooner, known for his smooth singing style similar to that of Bing Crosby or Perry Como. In 1948, he joined the Grand Ole Opry and achieved significant success with his debut single "Candy Kisses" (1949) which topped the Billboard country music chart for three weeks in 1949. Morgan released several notable songs including "Room Full of Roses" (1949) and "Almost" (1952). He died on July 7, 1975, following a heart attack after undergoing open-heart surgery. George Thomas Morgan was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1998.
