Thomas E. Bauer is a German baritone singer. He received his initial musical training as a member of the Regensburger Domspatzen, from which he graduated in 1990, and later studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. Bauer co-founded the vocal ensemble Singer Pur in 1991 and made his operatic debut in 1997 at the Münchner Prinzregententheater. He has performed at prestigious venues such as the Salzburger Festspiele, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, and the Wiener Konzerthaus. He was recognized with the Schneider-Schott-Musikpreis Mainz in 2003. Bauer served as Intendant of the Festspiele Europäische Wochen Passau from 2016 to 2018 and was appointed Director of the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt in December 2021.
