Deniz Çelik, known professionally as Bendeniz, was born on July 25, 1973, in Zurich, Switzerland. She is a Swiss-Turkish pop musician originally from Konya. Her music career began when she was discovered by Raks Music officials after singing at a friend's birthday party. Bendeniz released her debut album BenDeniz in 1993, which featured the hit song "Ya Sen Ya Hiç" and became one of Turkey's classic albums. In 1994, she collaborated with Harun Kolçak on the maxi-single "Us". Her second album, Bendeniz II, released in 1995, included notable tracks like "Gönül Yareler İçinde" and "80 Günde Devr-i Alem". She won the gold record award in a competition sponsored by a French TV station in 1995. Her music blends world pop sounds with traditional Turkish elements, making her a notable figure in the Turkish music scene.
