Yeni Türkü are a Turkish band formed in 1978. The ensemble was established by lead vocalist Derya Köroğlu, Selim Atakan, and Zerrin Atakan. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style incorporating traditional Turkish instruments including the oud, baglama, and qanun. They released their debut studio album, Buğdayın Türküsü (1979), which was subsequently banned following the 1980 coup. Their discography includes the studio recordings Akdeniz Akdeniz (1983), Günebakan (1986), and Dünyanın Kapıları (1987). Their recording career includes the studio recording Vira Vira (1990) and the compilation Her Dem Yeni (1996). Köroğlu has remained the group's sole constant member. They followed these with the studio recordings Yeni (1999) and Şimdi ve Sonra (2012).
