Henri Ledroit, born on March 11, 1946 in Villacourt, France, was a countertenor. He studied piano, chamber music, music history, and singing at the conservatories of Nancy and Paris. In 1972, Henri Ledroit met Alfred Deller, who recognized his vocal abilities and encouraged him to develop his countertenor voice. Ledroit refined his skills under Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Nigel Rogers, and René Jacobs, performing numerous concerts with them. He participated in various European performances, including works with the Clemencic Consort, Philippe Herreweghe, Jean-Claude Malgoire, Ton Koopman, and Michel Corboz. His recordings include Chabanceau de La Barre: Airs De Cour (1984), and Marcello: Canzone Et Cantates (1991). He performed in significant operas such as "David et Jonathas" by Marc-Antoine Charpentier and "Serse" by Haendel. He died on May 10, 1988, at the age of 42.
