Ida Bieler, born in 1950 in Roanoke, Virginia, is an American violinist and professor of violin. She studied under notable figures such as Ruggiero Ricci, Oscar Schumsky at the Juilliard School of Music in New York, Max Rostal in Cologne, and Nathan Milstein in London. Bieler served as concertmaster of the Gürzenich Orchestra of Cologne from 1982 to 1988 and was a member of the Melos Quartet. She became a professor at the Robert Schumann University of Düsseldorf in1993, where she led the master class for violin. Notable recordings include Violin Sonatas No. 1 & 2 (1996) and Piano Trios Nos. 1 and 2 (2007). She has received numerous awards, including the Echo Klassik Preis and the Cannes Classical Award.
