Boxhamsters, a German punk rock band from Giessen, was founded in 1987 by Martin Coburger (vocals, guitar), Markus Weil (guitar), and Philipp Lambert (drums). The group's name is derived from the sketch "Upperclass Twit of the Year" from the series Monty Python's Flying Circus. In 1988, Ulf Jachimsky joined as drummer, and Lambert switched to bass. Their debut album, Wir Kinder aus Bullerbü, was released in 1988 and later recognized by Musikexpress as one of the 50 best punk albums of all time. Notable releases include Tötensen (1991), Prinz Albert (1993), and Saugschmerle (2000), which was awarded 12 out of 12 points by Visions magazine. The album Brut Imperial (2009) featured a collaboration with Eva Briegel from the band Juli on the track "Flöz & Pökel".
