AG. Geige was a German electronic music band founded in 1986 in Karl-Marx-Stadt, now Chemnitz. The group consisted of Frank Bretschneider, Torsten Eckhardt (until 1989), Jan Kummer, and Ina Kummer, with Olaf Bender joining in 1989. Despite lacking official permission to perform, they gained recognition as a "Volkskunstkollektiv der ausgezeichneten Qualität," allowing public appearances. Their music combined synthesizers, samplers, tape recorders, and later computers with visuals from Super-8 and 16-mm films. AG. Geige's debut album Yachtclub & Buchteln was released in 1987 on Bretschneider’s label KlangFarBe. Their final album, Raabe?, was released in 1991 on Traumton Records. The band disbanded in 1993 due to artistic differences and financial uncertainties following German reunification.
