Mia Gundersen is a Norwegian singer and actress born Mariann Gundersen on October 27, 1961, in Stavanger. She debuted as a vocalist with the band Asfalt, contributing to the 1984 album Få det ud. Gundersen launched her solo career with the 1986 album Temptation and made her stage debut at the Rogaland Teater in 1987 in the cabaret Johanna og Broremann. She achieved a professional breakthrough in 1990 starring as Eliza Doolittle in the musical My Fair Lady. Between 1985 and 1996, she participated in the Melodi Grand Prix song contest several times. Her television career includes a leading role in the soap opera Offshore from 1996 to 1999 and the children's series Uhu! between 2001 and 2003. She appeared in the 1999 film Fomlesen i kattepine and published her autobiography, Jeg er Mia, in 2008. Starting that same year, she served as a long-standing judge on the television program Norske Talenter. Gundersen was married to photographer Marcel Leliënhof from 2002 until their divorce in 2016.
