Miri Aloni, born on December 25, 1949 in Givatayim, Israel, was a singer and actress. She began her career by enlisting in the Israel Defense Forces in 1968, serving in the Nahal band. In the 1970s and 1980s, Aloni performed with various bands, including Apocolypse, and had major roles in several movies and TV series. She gained significant attention after performing "Shir Lashalom" ("Song for Peace") minutes before the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin in November 1995. Her notable recordings include "Mona Lisa of the Twentieth Century," "Women from Brecht," and "Drop of Love" ("Ahava peep"). Aloni also performed theme songs for TV series such as Hedva and Shlomik. She lived in Germany from 1999 to 2002. In later years, she was known for her street performances at Carmel Market in Tel Aviv, starting in 2003 as a protest against cuts in governmental subsidies for culture.
