Aquabella, a German acappella ensemble based in Berlin, was founded in the mid-1990s by Ulrike Siems and Gisela Knorr. Specializing in world music, Aquabella consists of five singers and one percussionist. The group gained prominence with their debut program Aquabella – Liebeslieder aus aller Welt in 1995, which showcased love songs from around the globe. Over the years, they have released several albums including Nani Dschann – von Hochzeiten und anderen schlaflosen Nächten (2001), Sonho meu - mein Traum (2007), and Heimatlose Lieder finden ein Zuhause (2023). Aquabella has performed in over 20 languages, collaborating with native speakers to ensure authenticity. Their extensive touring includes performances across Europe, Taiwan, and New Zealand. The group has received numerous awards, such as the Folkförderpreis Rudolstadt in 1997 and silver medals at the Worldmusic in Graz (2009) and the International Vocal Marathon in Rijeka (2011).
