Eric Lamb, born in 1978 in the United States, is an American flutist known for his performances across the United States and Europe. He earned a Bachelor of Music in flute performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in 2000, studying under Michel Debost. Further studies at the Hochschule für Musik Frankfurt am Main led to a Master of Music in orchestral performance and a Soloist’s Diploma. Lamb joined the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) in 2008, premiering over 200 works with notable composers such as Michel van der Aa and John Adams. He has performed in nontraditional venues and collaborated with conductors including Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Vladimir Ashkenazy. In 2012, Lamb and Claire Chase were soloists in the premiere of Salvatore Sciarrino’s Cerchio tagliato dei suoni at the Guggenheim Museum. Quantz: Quatre Concertos pour flûte et cordes, his debut recording featuring cellist Martin Rummel, was released in May 2018.
