Martin Rummel, born on May 2, 1974, in Linz, Austria, is a cellist and cultural manager. He began his musical education at the Anton Bruckner Private University, where he studied cello under Wilfried Tachezi and harpsichord with August Humer. After completing his diploma with distinction in 1991, Rummel continued his studies privately in London and later at the Cologne University of Music. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed across Europe, Asia, Oceania, South America, and the USA. Notable venues include the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Vienna Musikverein, the Brucknerhaus Linz, and the Krannert Center in Urbana. Rummel has released several albums, including Bach: Suites Pour Violoncelle (2010) and Beethoven: Œuvres Pour Violoncelle & Piano (2011). He has also been involved in various cultural initiatives and became rector of the Anton Bruckner Private University in 2021.
