Sibrydion, a Welsh music group originally from Waunfawr in north Wales, formed in 2004 by brothers Osian Gwynedd on keyboards and Meilir Gwynedd on vocals and guitar. The band's name translates into English as 'Whispers' or 'Rumours'. Sibrydion played their first concert at the National Eisteddfod in 2004. Their debut album, JigCal, was released in 2005 by the Rasal label. By 2007, the band expanded its lineup to include Dan Lawrence on guitar, Rhys Roberts on bass, and Dafydd Nant on drums. The group's second album, Simsalabim, was launched at the National Eisteddfod in 2007 on the Copa label. They won the Best Album Award for JigCal at the 2006 BBC Radio Cymru Rock and Pop Awards and were named Best Welsh Language Act at the 2007 Pop Factory Awards.
